PURPOSE:To make selection of a paper feeding mode performable so easily, by installing a paper feed guide plate from which a manual paper feed block separates if the tip end is pressed, with pressure, to a paper feeding device at a first position and it is turned round to a second position, in case of a copying machine or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a manual paper feed block 1 is rotated clockwise, engagement between an engaging member 2 and an engaging pin 6 is released free, and simultaneously a manual paper feed guide plate 5 goes forward as being pushed by a front end of the paper feed block 1, and the tip end enters a clearance between paper P1 on a cassette 12 and a feed roller 9, pressing this feed roller 9 with pressure, whereby the paper P1 is separated from the feed roller 9. And, a manually fed paper P2 is inserted thereinto along the guide plate 5, reaching a contact point with the paper feed roller 9. Next, selecting it to an automatic paper feeding mode, if the manual paper feed block 1 is rotated upward, the engaging pin 6 is engaged with the engaging member 2 whereby the manual paper feed guide plate 5 retracts from the pressure-contact position with the feed roller 9 for separation so that the paper P1 is pressed to the feed roller 9 and thus automatic paper feeding is made attainable.
