PURPOSE:To make it possible to simultaneously finish the side face of a groove in the process of grooving for the purpose of improving work efficiency and accuracy by making widths of the cutting edge of roughing teeth arranged in series smaller than those of the cutting edge of finishing teeth by a specified dimension and by providing the finishing teeth with side cutting edges. CONSTITUTION:Grooving roughing teeth 2 and grooving finishing teeth 3 are arranged in series on a broach body 1, and the roughing teeth 2 are formed with widths of the cutting edges 2a being smaller than finished dimension (a) by 0.03-0.06mm. And the finishing teeth 3 are formed with widths of the cutting edges 3a being same as finished dimension (a) and also with both the side faces of the finishing teeth 3 crossing at right angles to the cutting edges 3a provided with cutting edges 3b and 3b. A high accurate groove can be obtained without increasing machining process time by simultaneously finishing the side faces of the groove at the time of grooving by using a broach having such structure. |
