PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a terminator and to simplify its structure by using a strip line as part of a resistive terminal where radio waves are absorbed, and bringing a plate type radio absorber into contact with a metallic plate and not radiating heat by radiation fins, but conducting the heat by surface contacting. CONSTITUTION:An incident radio wave after passing through a conversion plug 8 is propagated in TEM mode on a microstrip line substrate 9 and then begins to attenuate gradually near the radio wave absorber 11. The radio wave absorber 11 is formed in a taper shape and its attenuation constant increases gradually in the traveling direction of the radio wave. Therefore, heat generation by the absorption of the radio wave is uniform. Further, the radio wave absorber 11 contacts the substrate 9 on one surface and comes into surface contact with a metallic body 15 on the other surface across a metallic lid 12, so generated heat is conducted to the metallic body 15 efficiently. Consequently, the raise in the temperature of the substrate 9 is prevented. |
