PURPOSE:To prevent butt against the bottom of a damper by use of a simple construction by loosely engaging a go-and-return rod, to which a piston is to abut in a separating wall member that is disposed at one side of a cylinder, and restricting a passage area under control of movement of said go-and-return rod to increase damping force. CONSTITUTION:A separating wall member 33 which is engaged at the end part of a cylinder 21 divides a cylinder 21 into both a large chamber part 35 containing a piston 23 and a small chamber part 37 communicated with a reserve tank 29. The separating wall member 33 has both check valves 41 and 43 by which through holes 39 and 39 communicating both said chambers 35 and 37 with each other are closed and opened to have working oil flow into the large chamber part only. A go-and-return rod 47 having a longitudinal groove 53 formed on the side face thereof is loosely engaged in a through hole 45 which is formed in the separating wall part 33. When the piston 23 butts against the go-and-return rod 47 to move by a specified distance, the groove 53 which is being communicated with both said chambers 35 and 37 is filled with the separating member 33. The passage area will then be reduced so that damping force may be increased. |
