PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material safe in handling under the yellow safelight, and yet, high in sensitivity to Ar laser beams by incorporating at least one of specified compds. having arranged plural pyridine rings, or the like and at least one of arranged plural aromatic rings. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material high in contrast, safe in handling under the yellow safelight and yet high in sensitivity to Ar laser beams can be obtained by incorporating at least one of compds. represented by general formula I and at least one of compds. represented by general formula II, and in formulae I and II Z1, Z2 are each a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an optionally substd. pyridine ring; Z is an aromatic group having unsatd. side chains; at least one of side chains R5-R9 is a sulfonic group; and n is 0-3. |
