PURPOSE:To obtain a solid cosmetic having improved impact resistance and utility, by pacing a solid cosmetic composition having thermally melting properties into a through hole of a cutting plate, transporting the composition to a compression part by sliding of the cutting plate, compression molding it in a middle dish, melting it further under heating, cooling and solidifying it. CONSTITUTION:The solid cosmetic composition 8 having thermally melting properties is packed from the packing nozzle 6 through the hole 7 of the guide plate 3 to the through hole 5 of the cutting plate 4 sliding between the guide plate 1 and the press plate 3 while being brought into contact with both the plates. Then, the cutting plate 3 is slid, the packing plate 7 is closed by the cutting plate 3, the composition 8 is transported to compression molding part 9, inserted into the middle dish 12 which is detachably attached to the part 9, to compression molding the composition. The middle dish 12 is taken out from the compression molding part 9, the composition 8 in the middle dish 12 is melted under heating, cooled and solidified, to give a solid cosmetic which can be molded in single or multiple color in one piece, has no deformation, and show clear boundaries of each color and the above-mentioned effects in the case of multiple colors.
