PURPOSE:To stabilize the extent of triboelectric charge, to form the sharp and uniform distribution of extent of triboelectric charge, and to make the extent of triboelectric charge suitable for a developing system used by control by using a binding resin, a coloring agent and a chelate compound of (alkyl) salicylaldimine. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains the binding resin, the coloring agent and the chelate compound of (alkyl)salicylaldimine. The chelate compound of (alkyl) salicylaldimine used as a charge controller may by the chelate compound contg. Cr, Co, Fe or Cu, and the alkylsalicylaldimine has 1-3 alkyl groups each having 1-24C, especially 1-16C atoms. The chelate compound is easily obtd. by adding an aqueous metallic salt soln. to the soln. of corresponding aldehyde in ethanol and an aqueous ammonia soln. and by heating them. The chelate compound is blended with colored fine powder contg. a binding resin and a coloring agent as essential components to obtain the desired toner. |
