PURPOSE:To operate a hydraulic locking mechanism smoothly by providing a hydraulic locking mechanism supporting member which has an oil sump the top of which is opened, and in which a hole for fitting and holding said hydraulic locking mechanism in it is provided on its bottom member, while the top part of its wall part which forms said oil sump is fixed to an engine body side. CONSTITUTION:An automatic tensile device T for a cam chain 7 has a tension hanger 12 which is installed on an engine body 1, and an oil passage 15 which introduces oil to right above a hydraulic locking mechanism R, is formed on the lower center of a top bridge 13. A supporting member 22 for hydraulic locking mechanism R has an oil sump 24 the top of which is opened, and is placed, equally to the tension hanger 12, inside the cam chain 7. Thereby, the area of the top opening of the oil sump can be made large while the hydraulic locking mechanism can be held without being deformed. |
