ROTARY TYPE BIOLOGICAL DENITRIFICATION APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove a nitrogen component, by providing a large number of plate shaped contact materials to the central part of a tank in parallel to a rotary shaft so as to surround said rotary shaft and mounting a rotor having projections provided to the surface thereof to the surfaces of the contact materials. CONSTITUTION:Preliminarily nitrated sewage is supplied into a tank 3 from the lower part thereof through a sewage inlet 9 and an introducing path 10, and the whole of a rotor 1 and the rotary blades 8 thereof are immersed in sewage. Bacteria are adhered to the surfaces plastic flat plates 25 and flat plates 26 with projections as contact materials constituting the media unit of the rotor 1 to form biological films. Sewage is purified by denitrification action due to biological metabolism of denitrifying bacteria while purified sewage is discharged out of the tank from a treated water outlet 11. Generated nitrogen gas is allowed to fill the space 13 of the tank upper part and sent to an air diffusion pump 19 to be diffused toward the media unit 21 of the rotor 1.
