PURPOSE:To lower production costs of the device necessary for designation of the editing area and to improve operability by arranging a position signal generator outputting analog position signal as a function of the positions assumed by the movable part is placed near the surface on which to place the originals along two mutually crossing axes and that the control circuit is provided with analog/digital converting means. CONSTITUTION:An X-position setting device 102 along the X axis direction and a Y-axis setting device 101 along the Y-axis are placed at the end of a contact glass 1. The surface of a photosensitive drum 9 is electrified to a uniform high potential by an electrifying charger 23. When the high potential surface is irradiated by the light from the original, the electrical potential of the surface is changed as a function of the intensity of the irradiating light so that the potential distribution corresponding to the image, that is, the static latent image is formed on the surface of the drum 9. When the edit mode is specified by an edit key switch, the output information from the X-position signal generator and the Y-position signal generator are read by the analog/ digital converting means and specified processing is carried out for the image of the area specified by the results. |
