PURPOSE:To obtain a variety of wood-based resins highly utilizing a woody material, by dissolving a chemically modified wood in a polyhydric alcohol, and resinifying the solution. CONSTITUTION:A wood raw material (e.g. wood flour, wood fiber, etc.) is introduced with substituent groups (e.g. acetyl group, propionyl group, nitro group, carbon, etc.) in an amount to achieve a weight increase of 5-50%, and the chemically modified wood is dissolved in a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerol, etc.) in the presence or absence of a catalyst. The solution is resinified with a crosslinking agent or a hardener.
