<p>PURPOSE:To control an information recording and reproducing device stably by allowing a data processing means to generate control commands to this device while referring to status data on the device. CONSTITUTION:A speech recognition system 13 receives an input speech signal S11 by a speech recognition board 14, recognizes the contents of an operation instruction specified by the signal S11 under the control of a CPU board 15, and supplies the recognition result to a CPU board 15. The CPU board 15 inputs the obtained recognition data while supplying control commands to the speech recognition board 14. On the other hand, while the status data supplied from a VTR17 through a VTR interface 16 is referred to, the recognition data is processed. A control command to the VTR17 is generated on the basis of the processing result and supplied to the VTR17 through the interface 16. Consequently, the VTR17 is put in operation mode corresponding to an operation instruction inputted from a microphone 12.</p> |
