PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition of mild reactivity, thus suitable for producing large castings, comprising an epoxy resin, polybasic carboxylic acid anhydride and, as filler, alumina powder prepared by sphering followed by providing its surface with purification treatment. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) an epoxy resin, (B) as a curing agent, a polybasic carboxylic acid anhydride and (C) as a filler, alumina powder prepared by sphering followed by purification treatment. Said treatment is pref. carried out by removing the water-soluble component contained while washing the powder by mixing, in water, with ion exchange resin.
