<p>2-(2,4-difluoro phenyl) 1,3-bis (1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl) propan-2-ol of formula I is made by (a) reacting methyl 2,4-difluoro benzoate (II) with an organo-metallic cpd. of formula (II), in which X is Cl, Br or I, in molar ration 1:2, in THF, dioxane or hexane at from 0 deg.C up to reflux temp.; and (b) crystallising from isopropanol or ethyl acetate to obtain chemically pure (I).</p> |
