PURPOSE:To detect a load with sufficient stiffness of the shaft to receive the load by adhering the magnetic material having high magnetostriction characteristic to the shaft to receive a load and by providing the detecting coil to detect the permeability change of the magnetic material by surrounding the same. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 7 receives a compression stress in the direction A when a load W is impressed in vertical direction A on the shaft 7 consisting of nonmagnetic material. The magnetic material 8 having high magnetostriction characteristic and of low magnetism is fixed on the whole periphery of the shaft 7. The magnetic material 8 has a thin thickness and is minutely bent by receiving the compression stress nearly equivalent to the shaft 7 and the permeability is reduced. The variation in this permeability becomes the variation in inductance of the detecting coil 10 coiled with surrounding the outer periphery of the magnetic material 8 and is converted into an electrical signal. |
