PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of important information by providing a flag on a memory in accordance with each logging file and making data effective at the read processing time only when the corresponding flag is turned on. CONSTITUTION:A memory 13 of a main storage device, discs 14-15 of auxiliary storage devices, and display devices 16-18 are connected to a CPU11 through a common bus 12 to constitute an information processing system. The disc 14 is used for logging and is provided with plural logging files 14A-14C internally. Flags 13A-13C corresponding to these logging files are provided on the memory 13. Each flag is set to '1' (turned on) only when the write processing of the corresponding logging file is performed, and the flag is set to '0' (turned off) otherwise. The read processing of each of logging files 14A-14C is performed when the corresponding flag is turned off; and if the read processing is interrupted by the write processing and the flag is turned on, the read processing is interrupted and terminated immediately.
