PURPOSE:To automate the modification of a facsimile control program by giving a function for receiving the facsimile control program to a distant facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:When a program A and other program B are received through a communications circuit 2, the program B is stored on a work file 5 of a disk 3. Then, when a collating program is received through the communications circuit 2, a collating part 10 collates data on the collating program with that of the work line 5. When they are equal, a facsimile control part 9 starts its action by the program B. When they are not equal, the judgment is made whether or not the number of re-transmitting times of the program B from a host computer lies within a retransmission permissible number range. When said number lies within the range, the re-transmission is requested with respect to the host computer. If the number exceeds the re-transmission permissible number, it is considered to be system-down, and the effect is displayed.
