PURPOSE:To reduce the load on software and to speed up processing by checking the moving distance of a coordinate input device, outputting an interruption signal to the succeeding processor only when the displacement is detected. CONSTITUTION:The coordinate input device is constituted of a control circuit 1, a counting circuit 5, an arithmetic circuit 10, and a detecting circuit 17. The counting circuit 5 is provided with X and Y coordinate counting circuits 6, 8, the arithmetic circuit 10 is provided with the 1st and 2nd X and Y registers 11-14 and Y arithmetic circuits 15, 16 and the detecting circuit 17 is provided with X and Y buffers 20, 21 and an OR circuit 18. The X arithmetic circuit 15 calculates the moving distance of the coordinate input device on the basis of the current counting section counting data of the 1st X register 11 and the preceding counting section data of the 2nd X register 13 and outputs the moving distance to the detecting circuit 17. The Y arithmetic circuit 16 outputs a moving distance similarly. When both the moving distances in the X and Y axis directions are not '0', an interruption signal 22 is outputted and moving distance signal 23, 24 are outputted to the succeeding processor.
