PURPOSE:To simplify arithmetic processing and to reduce consequently the cost and time for the arithmetic processing in a correlation flowmeter by determining only the peak of time average with correlation coefft. registers. CONSTITUTION:The shift registers phi(tau0)...phi(taum) which add the values of the correlation coefft. obtd. by calculating the range of delay time tn at every tautime by each time and an OR circuit OR which ORs the carry output signal of each shift register are provided. The circuit OR shifts all of the shift registers to the digit direction lower by one bit when a carry is outputted from any one of the shift registers phi(tau0)-phi(taum). The overflow of the value of the correlation coefft. is prevented even with the shift register of the smaller bit number according to such constitution; further the long operation time required for the averaging process of the correlation calculation is saved and therefore the high speed calculation is made possible.
