The invention relates to magnetic catches used for closing doors and consisting of an element with a magnet 1 and of a backplate 2 composed of a base 3 and of a metal reinforcement 4. The plastic base 3 takes the form of a frame with a central orifice 9 receiving the reinforcement 4. A crosspiece 10 connects the two longitudinal sides 6 of the base in their middle, to ensure the retention of the reinforcement 4 by means of its central part 13, whilst at the same time leaving it freedom of movement allowing it to come firmly up against the element 1. <IMAGE>
