METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR ANALYZING AMINE COMPOUND AND AMMONIA OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To make possible analysis with high selectivity, high sensitivity and good reproducibility by bringing a gaseous mixture composed of a gaseous sample and carrier gas into contact with heated metallic platinum, etc. and measuring the ionization current of the cracking gas thereof. CONSTITUTION:The gaseous sample flowing out of a sepn. column 2 is mixed with air introduced through a pipe 5 by a T joint 3 and the mixture composed thereof is admitted from the top end of a quartz nozzle 4 into an ionization chamber 7. The gaseous sample contacts with the heated platinum electrode 15 and is thermally cracked. The amine compd. and ammonia are ionized to form positive ions. The positive ions are captured by a collector electrode 11 and the signal thereof is amplified by an electrometer 18.
