The invention relates to the construction of engines. The supply system forming the subject of the invention is of the type comprising an air purifier 1 whose body has the shape of a circular cylinder at the bottom 2 of which there are made an exhaust opening 3 and an orifice 4 which communicates with the exhaust manifold 5 by means of a duct 6 equipped with a non-return valve 7, the lateral surface of the said air purifier 1 having an inlet opening 8, and is characterised especially in that the inlet opening 8, the exhaust opening 3 and the orifice 4 are arranged in such a way that the plane containing the orifice 4, the axis d-d of the body of the air purifier and the exhaust opening 3 is perpendicular to the plane passing through the centre C of the inlet opening 8 and the axis d-d of the body of the air purifier 1. The invention may be used especially in the construction of touring car engines.
