PURPOSE:To increase the working range in the axial direction or rotating direc tion of a measuring finger which is freely slidable in the axial direction by detecting the displacement of the measuring finger in the axial direction and the direction perpendicular to the axial direction by respectively separate detectors. CONSTITUTION:The measuring finger 10 slides toward the inside to actuate a detecting element 13 and the displacement is measured when the finger 10 is displaced in a direction Z. The finger 10 is returned to the home position by a return spring 14 when the external force is removed from the finger 10. The movement of the finger 10 is only the sliding in the axial direction and therefore even if the extent of the movement is taken large, there is no change at all in the size except in the axial direction. The entire part of the detector 11 rotates around the shaft 15 and a lever 16 actuates a detecting element 17 when the measuring finger is displaced in the direction X'. The detection of the displacement is thus made possible. Return springs 20 and 21 act relative ly on a balance plate 19 and the detector 11 is returned to the central position when the external force is removed from the finger 10. |
