PURPOSE:To improve the reliability to oscillation impact, etc. and to prevent the breakage of an optical fiber by embedding the optical fibers into a pressurized plate laminated and formed repeatedly with layers consisting of >=2 kinds of materials having different moduli of elasticity in a manner as to cross the respective layers. CONSTITUTION:The pressurized plate 6 is constituted by laminating alternately the 1st elastic materials 7 having a high rate of elastic deformation and the 2nd elastic materials 8 having a low rate of elastic deformation. The optical fiber 4 is embedded in the plate 6 in the folded state so as to cross alternately the layers of the materials 7, 8 and the plate 6 and fiber 4 are united to one body, by which an optical fiber sensor is constituted. The layers of the material 7 are deformed more than the layers of the material 8 when a detection pressure is exerted to the plate 6. The detection pressure is obtd. by detecting the change of the quantity of the light propagated in the fiber 4 by the microbends generated in the fiber 4 as a result of such deformation. |
