The device according to the invention comprises a cylindrical metering chamber 10 with a circular cross section and a substantially horizontal axis, which has at its top an opening 14 opening into a reservoir 16 filled with the product 12 to be metered, and which communicates with an output channel 18 in which a tray 20 is periodically moved between an upper blocking position and a lower end of metering position; a blade 26 extending radially along a shaft 28 capable of being driven in a rotational movement with controlled amplitude, during which the free end 30 of the blade 26 sweeps over the cylindrical internal surface 32 of the metering chamber 10; a shutter 34 which can move in translation and is capable of periodically penetrating the metering chamber 10 in order to delimit a wall thereof by tangential contact with the said shaft 28, then of being extracted therefrom in order to allow complete rotation of the said blade 26. <IMAGE>
