Plug-in fuse and a method for its production

The live part, which is held in an insulating housing has two blade contacts (5, 6) which project from it and a fuse conductor (7) which electrically connects them together in the housing. In order to keep the cross-section of the fuse conductor within tight tolerances in a reproducible manner and without any major technical complexity, the live part is stamped from a sheet-metal strip which has a longitudinal edge region (1) of reduced sheet-metal thickness. The section of the live part forming the fuse conductor (7) is stamped out of this longitudinal edge region. <IMAGE>
