PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in image quality such as fogging and thinning of an image and to improve safety by providing a shutter for opening and closing a laser light exit window and a means for opening and closing the shutter and maintaining the shutter in an open state in the stage of forming the image. CONSTITUTION:A drum motor is turned on and a timer is started after a print request signal is inputted to a recorder 1. A solenoid 17 for a shutter 16 is turned on upon lapse of prescribed time T1 and whethr a microswich 22 turns on or not is detecred. An error process is executed if the microswich 22 does not turn on upon lapse of the prescribed time. The solenoid 17 is turned off to bring the shutter 16 into the close position of a slit 15 after lapse of prescribed time T3 and the error process is exeucted when the microswitch 22 does not turn off. It is judged that the shutter 16 operates normally if the microswitch 22 turns off. A series of the operations for opening and closing the shutter are then terminated so that the recorder is ready for the succeeding printing. |
