What is indicated is a washing method for a drum-type washing machine, in which, in the initial phase, the washing fluid is pumped into the tub by circulation via a spray nozzle by means of a pumping device, while the drum is being operated at a stand-by speed. In a second washing phase, washing is then continued at the normal washing rate with an increase in the water level.
