In the rotary tube internal combustion engine on the 3-piston principle, in which the main piston fixed to a wheel continuously moves in a circle in the same direction in a circular pipe, the fuel mixture, compressed ready for use, is delivered from the compression chamber accommodated at the rear end of the main piston, from whence the fuel mixture is forced by means of a piston located in the main piston into the combustion chamber opening in the tube under a constant degree of compression and is ignited. Whilst at the forward end of the main piston a movably mounted piston forces the exhaust gases of the preceding cycle against an initially closed flap, the piston is moved backwards - relative to the forwards movement of the main piston, as a result of which the fuel mixture located in a chamber behind the piston is forced into the compression chamber - alternatively assisted by a turbocharger unit. Compression may also be produced simply by a turbocharger unit.
