A hydraulic system for supplying a consumer (6) and an accumulator (5) is shown which comprises a pump (1) with an adjusting piston device (9) acting on an adjusting element (8) and intended for controlling the delivery quantity, an intermittent feed valve (16) operating as a function of the consumer pressure, and also a non-return valve (4) arranged between consumer (6) and pump (5). In a first operating position of the intermittent feed valve (16), the larger effective area of the adjusting piston device (9) is connected to a pressureless return (18), whereas it is connected to the consumer (6) in the other operating position; in neither of the two operating positions is the consumer (6) or the pressure connection (3) of the pump connected to the return (18). In the first operating position, the adjusting element (8) is located in a position in which the pump does not deliver, whereas in the second operating position a delivery is guaranteed. When the system is relieved of pressure, the flexible means (12) brings about a displacement of the adjusting element (8) into a delivery position.
