A device for the determination of pO2-histograms in living tissues comprises a macroprobe (111) with a large diameter which is introduced in discrete measurement locations (211, 212) spaced apart by a distance approximately of the size of the probe diameter and at a speed substantially higher than the rate of modification of pO2 of the tissue. The measurement values are determined after a short time interval after the probe has been brought to a standstill. Consequently, said procedure avoids that perturbations of pO2 of the tissues caused by compression effects of the thick probe falsify the measurement value, yet using a thick and resistant probe. A polarographic measuring point usable with this invention and presenting a ring-shaped metal film electrode (54) is characterized particularly in that it comprises a metal ring surface embedded under the measuring point surface, thereby enabling to obtain a measuring point with a very high response speed and a reduced stirring effect.
|
