PURPOSE:To produce a highly safe practical fuel tank through simple manufacturing process by forming thick resin layers on the inner and outer faces of a tank container squeezed from thin metal plate and providing a triple structure. CONSTITUTION:A tank container is formed with thin metal plate 12 then resin layers 14, 16 thicker than the metal plate 12 are applied onto the inner and the outer faces to produce a fuel tank 10 of triple structure. The flange sections 20A, 20B provided at the circumference are formed into fitting faces and the metal plates 12 corresponding with said fitting faces are welded and sealed. Upper and lower bodies 18A, 18B are first formed in said tank 10 through deep squeezing. Then resin layers 14 are applied onto single face or the tank inner wall face of the bodies 18A, 18B which are jointed to the flange sections 20A, 20B and welded temporarily. Thereafter, a resin layer 16 is formed to exhibit buffering function against the deformation due to the external impact thus to compensate the strength. |
