PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by performing exchanging heat directly between cooling liquid and the outer peripheral face of a laminated core, by forming a reciprocating flow passage for the cooling liquid with the outer peripheral face of the laminated core and with a concave groove provided in a housing for surrounding the core. CONSTITUTION:For the periphery of a stator 20, a cylindrical housing 26 sealed with a sealing member 29 and in close contact with the stator is provided. The whole outer periphery of the stator 20 is surrounded by the housing 26, and for the inner peripheral section of the housing 26, a concave groove 28 is provided at suitable intervals in the peripheral direction and at a sufficient long distance in the axial direction. A passage 30 for flowing cooling liquid is formed with each concave groove and the outer peripheral face 22a of a core section 22 consisting of the laminated core of the stator 20. The cooling liquid introduced via a conduit 32 from outside of a motor is returned to an external radiator from a discharge pipe 34 through a plurality of passages 30 formed on the periphery of the stator 20. |
