Preliminary sand flushing for reconstructing, improving and enlarging coastal and bank areas which are exposed to the destructive forces of nature is continually carried out by means of stationary pumping stations. The pumping stations are connected to a pipeline network for the removal of sand and the preliminary flushing. Wind-driven power stations are also suitable for driving the pumping stations.
