PURPOSE:To obtain a memory device for detecting malfunction due to a control signal by finding out exclusive OR between internal control signals of memory modules executing the same operation, outputting respective ORs and checking the outputs of respective memory modules. CONSTITUTION:Reading data is switched by a reading data switching signal 61 and the reading data is set in a reading data register 7 by a reading register strobing signal 71. An address switching signal 11 for a control signal, an address register strobing signal 21, a writing data switching signal 31, a writing data register strobing signal 41, reading data switching signal 61, and the reading data register strobing signal 71 are inputted to an exclusive OR circuit 8 and its output signal is sent to a check circuit. The check circuit sets up an exclusive OR output signal obtained from each memory module in a check register to check whether all outputs of the check registers corresponding to respective memory modules are the same value or not.
