PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous measurement of the torsion strength and the equivalent tensile strength, by mounting detection sensors on at least two joints to input a sound into a measuring device detecting it with the detection sensors twisting an insulation rod gradually. CONSTITUTION:A twisting force T is applied to couplings 8 and 9 provided at both ends of an insulation rod 6 to twist the insulation rod 6 entirely. Detection sensors 10, 11 and 12 are mounted on a resin 7 and the joints 8 and 9 respectively and a measuring device 16 is connected to the detection sensors 10, 11 and 12 through amplifiers 13, 14 and 15. Then, a twisting force can be applied to the insulation rod 6 to measure the torsion strength thereof 6. At the same time, the equivalent tensile strength can be measured utilizing the correlation between the grating sound generated from the insulation rod 6 and the tensile strength. In other words, simultaneous measurement of the torsion strength of the insulation rod 6 and the equivalent tensile strength can provided an insulation rod 6 highly reliable in the strength. |
