PURPOSE:To execute the formation, correction, etc. of a user dictionary easily by converting dictionary data in a required range out of user dictionary registering data into the data having a sentence format similar to that of normal sentence input data and extracting and displaying the converted data. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk device 5 is constituted of a user dictionary area (user dictionary memory) 51 and a sentence area 52 for storing a formed sentence. At the time of normal sentence formation, the memory 51 is used in preference to a fixed dictionary memory 4. When a conversion command is applied through a conversion key on a keyboard device 1, inputted 'kana' (Japanese syllabary) data are supplied to the user dictionary memory 51 and an entry word corresponding to the 'kana' data is retrieved from the memory 51. When the corresponding entry word is retrieved, a registration word corresponding to the entry word is taken out and displayed on a CRT7. Consequently, the formation, correction, etc. of the user dictionary can be easily executed.
