PURPOSE:To stabilize the sliding state of a brush and a commutator in a short time, by forming a point-symmetrical concave shape near the central section of a face sliding in contact with a cylindrical commutator. CONSTITUTION:A brush 1 receives pressure from a spring containing a brush retainer 2, and comes in contact with a commutator 3. In the initial state, the brush 1 comes in point-contact with the commutator 3 on the brush end face 1, and as the abrasion of the brush 1 is promoted, the brush comes in face- contact with a face 1c and also with the whole face, and the contact resistance is stabilized. The brush sliding cross section is formed in a square shape, and by forming a center-symmetrical concave shape on the central section on the sliding face, the sliding state of the brush 1 and the commutator 3 are stabilized in a short time even if any mistake is made in the inserting and fitting direction, and the mechanical sliding noise is attenuated, and the initial contact resistance can be stabilized. |
