PURPOSE:To detect securely the approach of an obstacle and to prevent a collision by fitting a photodetector to a moving body, arranging a cover which limits the direction of detection for light above or below the photodetector, and setting a light source on the ceiling, etc., of a movement path. CONSTITUTION:More than one photodetector 9 is fitted to the moving body 1 and the cover 10 which cuts off light incident from right above is arranged over the photodetector 8 to limit the direction of photodetection. Then, light sources 11a and 11b such as a light or the sunshine are installed on the ceiling or in the sky where the moving body 1 moves. The light sources are preferably installed on the floor surface and the light shield cover is fitted according to the positions of the light sources. When the moving body 1 approaches the obstacle 4, light 12b from the light source 11b is cut off by the obstacle 4 and light 11a from the light source 11a is cut off by the cover 9, so that the approach of the obstacle is detected. |
