METHOD FOR CORRECTING DEFECT OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To correct and relieve the defective part of picture elements by disturbing the orientation of the liquid crystal layer in said defective part to the intermediate state between the state during driving and the state during non- lighting. CONSTITUTION:Laser spot light 11 is irradiated to the defective part 1 of the picture elements to burn oriented films 8 and picture element electrodes 7 thereby eliminating the force for controlling orientation of the liquid crystal layer 10 and creating the intermediate state between the state during driving and the state during non-lighting. The defective picture elements are thus relieved.
