PURPOSE:To obtain the stable supply of ink and a particle jet characteristic by preventing air from penetrating in an ink sump, by providing a pneumatic chamber filled with air for absorbing the impulsive variation in pressure generated at the time of the injection of ink particles and a U-shaped pipe. CONSTITUTION:By providing a U-shaped pipe 11, even if the impact due to the movement of a main body head is generated, only the liquid level in a U-shaped pipe is varied and air in a pneumatic chamber 12 is prevented from mixing in an ink sump 24. When ink particles are injected by a piezoelectric element 26, the abrupt rising in the pressure of the ink sump 24 by the pressure wave generated in a pressure chamber 22 causes the rising of the liquid level 15 in the U-shaped pipe 11 and the air in the pneumatic chamber 12 is compressed by the rising of the liquid level 15 and the impulsive variation in the pressure, that is, the pulsation of the ink sump 24 is absorbed. Therefore, the effect of the variation in the pressure between mutual nozzles of each jet channel system is eliminated and the stable supply of ink and an ink particle jet characteristic are obtained. |
