PURPOSE:To enhance heat efficiency by uniformizing the contact with recording paper, by providing conductor layers to the upper surfaces at both sides of a protruded part of a protruded shape substrate having level difference and making the height of the upper surface of the conductor layer same to or less than the uppermost surface of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:An Si substrate 1 is formed into a protruded shape having level difference and the upper stage surface 1a thereof is coated with a thermally oxidized film comprising an SiO2 film 2 to form a heat generating unit A. The upper surfaces 1b at both sides of the protruded shape substrate 1 are covered with a conductor layer 3 and the thickness of said conductor layer 3 is made almost same to the height of the upper stage part 1a of the substrate 1 and the upper most surface of the SiO2 film 2 is allowed to coincide with the upper surface position of the conductor layer 3 to form a flat surface. As mentioned above, the uppermost surface brought to a flat surface is covered with a flat plate shaped heat generating resistor layer 4 and a protective layer 5 is further formed to the whole of these upper surfaces. |
