A 1,3-dithiole derivative having the formula:
<Chemistry id="chema01" num="0001"><Image id="ia01" he="17" wi="87" file="IMGA0001.TIF" imgContent="chem" imgFormat="TIFF" inline="no" /></Chemistry>wherein each of R<Sup>1</Sup> and R<Sup>2</Sup> is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl or aralkyl group or R' and R<Sup>2</Sup> together form a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene or alkenylene group having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, which may contain a cycloalkylene group, an o-phenylene group or a hetero atom selected from the group consisting of an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom and a nitrogen atom which may have a substituent, and Q is an acid residue.
