PURPOSE:To obtain the thin type display body capable of varying enlargement and reduction freely by forming a Fresnel lens function and a transparent electrode function in one body on part or the whole of the base of a liquid-crystal display element which uses plastic polarizing plate. CONSTITUTION:Two upper and lower polarizing plates which each hold a polarizer 1 together with a base 2 are constituted. A space is formed of a transparent electrode 5 and a spacer 6 between the upper and lower polarizing plates 3 and liquid-crystal 7 is charged in it. Part or the whole of the external surface of the upper polarizing plate 3 are recessed and projected so as to obtain the Fresnel lens function. In another way, the polarizing plates 3 contacting the liquid crystal 7 is recessed and projected to obtain the Fresnel lens function. Thus, the thickness is reduced and enlargement and reduction are varied freely. This display body is suitable for an electronic calculator and a digital timepiece. |
