PURPOSE:To enable feed length to be easily changed according to the length of a label, by a method wherein the feed length in a label-feeding part is automatically determined by a controlling means on the basis of the time of detection of the leading end of a label by a detector. CONSTITUTION:Data corresponding to the information to be printed on a label are inputted through an AND gate 18 by a signal from a printing controller 15, and are sent to a print image RAM17 through a character generator 16. A thermal head 6 is controlled by the controller 15, a pulse motor 7 is also controlled through a driver 19, and printing is conducted on the label on the basis of an output from the RAM17. When the leading end of the label is detected by the detector 13 provided in the vicinity of a label-releasing part, a number of pulses corresponding to the length of the label is outputted from the controller 15, and the label is fed by a predetermined length, thereby releasing the label. Accordingly, the label feed length can be easily determined by the controlling means, even when the length of the label is changed. |
