PURPOSE:To obtain extremely good appearance of a coated surface by coating a mixture of a copolymer of a thermosetting carboxylic acidamide with polymer particles of alpha,beta-ethylenic unsatd. monomer, then coating thermosetting powder paint thereon, and curing by heating. CONSTITUTION:Copolymer of a thermosetting carboxylic acidamide such as alpha,beta- monoethylenic unsatd. carboxylic acidamide, and polymer particles obtd. by polymerizing an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsatd. carboxylic acid with glycidyl methacrylate, are dispersed in a solvent such as n-hexane, n-heptane. The dispersed mixture is coated as an undercoat, further a transparent thermosetting powder paint is coated thereon, which is baked at the same time and cured by heating. Suitable powder paint is such as acrylic powder paint. Crosslinking is caused between a methacrylic ester and a polyvalent carboxylic acid compd.
