PURPOSE:To enable the useful life of a two-color printing ribbon to be doubled, by a construction wherein a ribbon is provided with three printing section bands with approximately equal widths, both ends of the ribbon are jointed to each other so that the ribbon is set into the form of a Mobius ring, both side printing section band is colored in the first color used more frequently, and the central printing section band is colored in the second color used less frequently. CONSTITUTION:The two-color printing ribbon 6 with a width of l is provided with the printing section bands 6a-6c with approximately equal widths, the side printing section bands 6a, 6c are colored in the first color used more frequently, e.g., black, while the central printing section band 6b is colored in the second color used less frequently, and both end parts 6d, 6e of the ribbon are jointed to each other with a 180 deg. relative twist, thereby setting the ribbon into a Mobius ring form loop. In using the ribbon by enclosing it in a ribbon casing, for example, the printing section bands 6a, 6b are used in the first run of the ribbon 6, whereby printing in black is normally conducted by use of the band 6a, and printing in red is conducted, as required, by switching to the band 6b. After the first run, the ribbon 6 is reversed upside down and face side back, and printing is conducted by selectively using the bands 6b, 6c in the second run of the ribbon. |
