ENDLESS BELT TRANSFER CONVEYORS

The belt transfer conveyor has a single endless belt forming an upper load-carrying run and a lower non load-carrying run. The upper run has a first supply belt portion 10 and a second receiving belt portion 11 to which material, such as coal is transferred from a transfer end 12 of the supply portion, either directly or via a transfer conveyor (Figure 5) or a chute (Figure 8). In the run between the supply and receiving belt portions the belt passes deflectors 16 which changes the direction of the belt and through turnover stations 13 and 14 which turn the belt through 90 DEG to lie vertical over a major portion of said run then turn it back again so that the receiving portion 11 can run past the transfer end 12 of the support portion 10. The belt can run horizontally Figures 1 to 4 or in an inclined plane Figures 5 to 8 to raise material to a higher level such as from a mine to the surface. The return run also passes through turnover stations 20, 21.
