PURPOSE:To provide the title modifier which gives synthetic resins having excellent surface texture, gloss, water-absorbing properties, adhesion and resistance to oils and wear, by using glue or gelatin as main component together with additives. CONSTITUTION:Glue obtd. as a by-product in the leather industry or industrial gelatin is used as main component, and additives compatible therewith are added thereto according to the purpose of modification to obtain the title modifier. Examples of the additives are plasticizer, filler, reinforcing agent, flame retarder, lubricant, antioxidant, blowing agent, crosslinking agent, antistatic agent, drip-proofing agent, anti-togging agent, mildewproofing agent, antibacterial agent and metal-induced injury inhibitor. The modifier is blended with a synthetic resin (e.g. vinyl chloride resin chip for soling) compatible with the modifier.
