PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed of a CPU, by causing a storage device for data to immediately send a call completion signal after holding the address and storing data of a storage circuit upon receiving a call for writing. CONSTITUTION:When a call signal, write signal, and the address and storing data of a storage circuit are given to a storage device 1 from a CPU in accordance with ordinary manners through respective buses, a control circuit in the storage device judges that the call is for writing from the reception of the write signal and immediately sends a call completion signal to the CPU after causing buffer registers 2 and 4 to hold the address and data. The control circuit selects the address of the storage circuit and performs data writing operations in parallel with the sending out of the call completion signal. When the writing operations are completed, the control circuit sets the storage device to a state which can accept the next call.
